This building, with its neighbour, the Saracen's Head was a winner in the BBC2 Restoration Series. The building has been carefully restored by APEC and was formally reopened in January 2008.
Analysis has shown the oldest timbers to date from the fourteenth century, but there is no certainty of the building's early history.
The completed building provides an interactive educational resource enabling children to dress up and experience life as a 17th century schoolchild.
