sheffield cathedral

community resource centre

The Sheffield Community Resources Centre was opened by HRH The Princess Royal in March 2007. It comprises four virtually self-contained suites, incorporating social, educational and exhibition facilities together with special provision for the homeless.

The slope across the site allows each of the two floors to have ground level access; the upper floor connecting directly into the west end of the Cathedral Church.  Structure, form and materials refer to the existing cathedral complex, although the extension has been kept deliberately low key and eschews any attempt at neo- Gothicism.

Net cost is approximately £2.9m
