Holly has long been interested in how students of architecture engage with the profession at an early stage of their education to strengthen the link between practice and academia. At the Association of Architectural Educators 2017 conference in Oxford, Holly presented the paper ‘Integration of Practice Experience into the Design of Undergraduate Courses’, that she co-wrote with Christopher Maloney, Hannah Vowles and Ian Shepherd of Birmingham City University.
The paper includes various case studies from higher education institutions across the UK to investigate what pre-emptive pedagogical action is emerging to integrate practice experience into undergraduate architectural education.
